William Webb

1862 – 1903

Painter who lived and worked all his life in Manchester, though he travelled round the country for coastal views, being particularly fond of the Isle of Man.

He first exhibited in Manchester in 1889 and showed 57 works there until his death. He also exhibited four works in Liverpool and three at the Royal Academy.

He was elected an Associate of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts in 1899.

Unfortunately he took his own life in 1903
