Ernest Walbourne

British Artist who was born on 16 February 1872 at Dalston, Middlesex. He was the second of five children, who was educated there and spent most of his childhood there, he died in 1927.

His father wanted him to be an architect but Ernest had other ideas and ran away from home and lived in a local public house. His father relented and encouraged him in his chosen career, even to the extent of converting a shed at the bottom of his garden into a studio.

Exhibited for the first time in 1895 at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and spent the next 25years exhibiting at all the major galleries in London and the Provinces, as well as the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions.
