Harold Speed R. P.

Born on 11 February 1872 and died on 20th March 1957 he was the son of Edward Speed an architect by trade. He started to train as an architect but then took up painting.

Landscape and portrait painter, he won a scholarship in 1893 and he studied at the Royal College of Art in 1887, Royal Academy Schools 1890 and in Paris Vienna and Rome during 1897. He held his first one-man show in 1907 at the Leicester Galleries, and is represented in many private collections at home and abroad.

Lived in Watlington, Oxfordshire and later in London where he died.
