Albert Gabriel Rigolot

French School

Born on 28 November 1862 in Paris and died on 25 April 1932.

Painter of views, landscapes and rural scenes.

He was the father of d’Yves Rouvre and a pupil of Pelouse and d’Allonge and had his debut exhibition at the Salon of French Artists in 1886 and became a member of the Society in 1888. He received an honourable mention in 1889, a third class medal in 1891 and a second class in 1892 and a silver medal in 1900 for his work at the Exposition Universelle. He was named a member of the Society of French Orientalists and made knight of the Legion of Honor in 1901.

He painted many river scenes, views of estuaries and views of Algeria.

His works have been in many museums in France, including The Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Rouen, and Nancy.

His paintings have been auctioned throughout Europe, the UK and the USA.
