Born in Staffordshire, in 1946 Ivan Taylor showed an early interest in art and at the age of 12 exhibited 40 painting on BBC TV’s “Sketch club”. These paintings were later sold by the BBC to raise money for UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund).

After studying Fine Art and Graphics at Stoke and Stafford Colleges, he worked as a graphic artist in Industry, and went on to become Head of Graphics for Staffordshire County Council Education Department.

He had his first one-man exhibition in 1972 and has been a full time painter since 1989, supplying galleries in England and Wales as well as doing commissions. He has his work in many private, and some public collections in various countries including USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa, as well as the U.K. His work has been reproduced in the “Studio” publication and also into print.

Ivan Taylor has recently been elected President of the Society of Staffordshire Artists.
