Richard Hesketh

1867-1919

Hesketh came from the Northeast of England and lived most of his life in Newcastle upon Tyne. Like many provincial artists of his day he worked locally and much of his inspiration was from places in the near vaccinate.

His style was a form of English Impressionism using broad expressive brushstrokes in oil paint and a “sober” rather than vibrant colour scheme.

His work was exhibited regularly in the Northeast.
