Henry ANDREWS

1794-1868

This London artist specialised in painting genre scenes and historical scenes. He was also well known for his imitations and adaptions of Watteau.

He usually used oil paints and painted in a traditional style with quite a bright palette.

His work was highly commercial and was in many private collections.

He showed his work at the Royal Academy between 1830 and 1838 and at the British Institute, and at the Royal Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street.
