William Hardie Hay

Exhibition Period 1887 – 1933

William Hardie was a painter of landscapes with figures and especially for scenes at the beach or by the sea.

Born in Birkenhead, Liverpool he studied at the Glasgow School of Art before moving to Paris where he studied with Benjamin-Constant and Jules Lefebvre.

After exhibiting at the Salon Des Artistes Francais he moved back to Britain and lived in Glasgow
