Edouard Gelhay

Born in 1856 in France

Painter of genre scenes, portraits, coastal landscapes, in both oil and pastels, and a painter in the post impressionist style.

He was a pupil of Alexandre Cabanel, William Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury. He exhibited at the School of French Artists in Paris in 1878 and was awarded the Legion D’Honeur in 1908.

His works have been in the Museums of Arras, La Rochelle and Lille.
