Yves Diey

1892-1984

He was born in 1892 in Paris and was a painter of nudes, figurative studies and genre scenes.

He participated in the Salon des Artistes Français and won a medal in 1942. Diey was known as a painter nudes and portraits of women, and also typical Spanish and Moroccan scenes. Although there is little biographical information on the artist, he is well known to French art dealers by virtue of the fact that he was extremely prolific and his works were generally of very high quality, while they have also remained very affordable.

Diey specialised in scenes showing gallantry and scenes with a Spanish theme. He also devoted his life work to studying and portraying the human, and in particular, the female form.
