Charles Edward Johnson

1832 – 1913
Landscape Painter born in Stockport and studied at The Royal Academy schools.

He originally worked in Edinburgh but later moved to London in 1864. He conducted a school for landscape painters in Richmond. From 1855 he exhibited at all the major galleries in the country.

In 1882 he became a member of the Royal Institute for Painters in Watercolours and in 1883 the Royal Institute for Oil Painters.
