Rene Louis Chretien
Biography of Artist
Born 2nd October 1867 in Choisy-le-Roi he died in 1945.
Chretien was a renown painter of Genre scenes and still lifes.
A pupil of Leon Bonnat, Gustave Boulanger and Elie Delaunay, Chretien made his Paris Salon debut at the very young age of 20 (1887), winning a jury commendation in 1889, a third-class medal in 1894, a second-class medal in 1895, and a silver medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900.
He exhibited in Brussels in 1910, and was still showing works at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1940.
