Oliver was a painter of genre and figurative subjects, mostly half-length figures of girls. He exhibited fifteen works at the Royal Academy, titles including ‘A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever’ and ‘The King’s Flowers’.
He also exhibited at the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
