Patrick Nasmyth

Biography of Artist

Born on 7 January in 1787 in Edinburgh and died on 17 August 1831 in Lambeth, London.

Painter of landscapes.

He was the son of Alexander Nasmyth, but although he had a very cruel upbringing he still followed his fathers trade as a painter. He visited London and was soon making a name for himself as an artist. And was exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1824 as a premier artist and later was one of the founders of the Society of British Artists.

His works have been in major museums throughout Europe, the UK and the USA and his paintings have been in all the best auction-houses from 1859 to the present day.
