Davidson Knowles

1852-1901

He was a British painter of landscapes, landscapes with figures and animals.

Davidson Knowles was a member of The Royal Society of British Artists from 1890 and the Suffolk Street Gallery in 1879 and was very much part of the London art world.

His paintings are often narrative in nature, containing clues describing the subject of his paintings and adding to the depth of description for the onlooker-

with typical titles include; “Consolation” and “Sonnet”.

He has exhibited at numerous Galleries throughout the country including:
