Biography of Artist

Born 1855
French School
He was born in Paris, where he lived and spent much of his life.
Duvieux was a pupil of M. Marilhat and made his debut at the salon in 1880. According to the taste of the day he painted views of Venice and Constantinople to earn his keep in between work on his other projects.
He was a painter of genre scenes, oriental subjects, figure scenes, landscapes (with or without animals ), work with gouache and drawings.
As well as being a very sought after artist and featuring in numerous public sales his work is featured in the following museums:- Avignon ‘A scene in Venice and a public garden in Venice’, Chateau-Thierry ‘A mosque on the banks of the Danube’ and Reims-A View of Venice’.
