Biography of Artist

George Clare lived from 1853 until 1890.
He lived in Birmingham and specialised in the painting of fruit and flowers.
Clare was an imitator of William Henry Hunt’s small, detailed pictures of fruit, flowers, blossom and bird’s nests.
He was the father of Oliver and Vincent Clare who followed in their father’s love of the study of small miniature still lives.
