French School
Born in Paris where he died in 1890.
Bentabole was a painter of marines and landscapes that featured river scenes.
He studied under Eugene Isabey.
He made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1847 with ‘The Abandoned Fishing Boat’ which was followed in 1848 with ‘Return to Port’. He continued exhibiting until his death in 1890.
His works can be found in the Museums of Reims, Rouen and La Rochelle.
