Biography of Artist

Born in Cozes (Charente), he studied at the school of drawing in Bordeaux with Gérôme. He made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1868 where he quickly found his niche painting portraits and genre scenes. This he did for both private commissions and public exhibitions. As well as his painting he did a lot of work using photographic lithography techniques.

Among his public exhibition work was a painting shown in Paris in 1923 entitled: “Sur la plage de Dieppe”.
